Rag machine have been the standard type for many years for the 'Pulling' of Shoddy Acrylic hosiery, hard waste, woollen rags and mungo and treatment of textile wastes either for subsequent re-spinning or for upholstery filling purpose.

the machine is designed for tearing rags and waste of cloth, knitted fabrics, thready waste and yarn from woollen, cotton, synthetic, artificial fibres, felt, jute and other textile raw materials, The raw material to be handled is spread manually and evened on the moving feed table. The tearing process take place batween a pair of feed roller & the upward revolving tearing cylinder, the first precess which the rag undergo is sorting, during which the rags are seprated into clippings, new rags, worn rags, pure wool, mixture of fabric & the different colours. After sorting, the bottons, hooks, iron and trimmings are removed, as well as the seam bits, which may contain, cotton, rayon or other vegetable fibres, After these pre-treatments, the rags are oiled to facilitate the tearing or pulling up process.
